Sélection Deux-Montagnes is a retirement complex, comprised of 262 balconied units. The 26,760 m2 (288,000 ft2) building features a linear form and offers a large number of services to its residents. Some of this building’s amenities include an indoor swimming pool, an outside courtyard, underground parking and private multipurpose rooms. The project features waterproofed raft foundations below the water table, linear balconies along the perimeter of the building and has no joints along its entire length. The peculiar geometry of this project required special consideration for the slab design.

• Water repellent construction on raft foundation
• Integration of expansion joints along the lateral access balconies of the building
