Our Vision

We tailor our services to our client’s specific needs in terms of logistics and availability. One of our core values is also to encourage verbal communication in order to ensure that our understanding of the project’s complexities and subtleties is accurate. We also pride ourselves in being readily available via our direct lines or emails.

We always approach each mandate with the clear objective to build a solid long-term relationship with our clients based on trust and accountability.

In short, we’re dedicated to offering our clients top-quality engineering services on every project, regardless of their scale.

Our Quest

At ELEMA, we don’t target an “adequate” solution: we always aim for the best solution to fit the project’s requirements in terms of budget, schedule, building type, logistics and finally, our client’s vision.

From a construction perspective, preparation is the key to success. Our engineersarchitects and technicians will preemptively analyze the project to uncover possible construction issues even before the first column is modelled.

That is why at ELEMA, we always work as a team, taking advantage of our staff’s collective knowledge and experience, to the ultimate advantage of the assigned project’s structure.

Coordination and BIM

As our partners have been at the forefront of management, coordination, logistics and production processes via BIM (since 2005), we continue to innovate in the matter to the benefit of the projects we work on.

Our models can easily be interconnected with that of the architect and other professionals, allowing real-time coordination. Our modelling methodology also allows us to go beyond solving coordination problems and producing quantity takeoffs. Our calculation tools are connected to the graphical model, reducing the integration time from design to plans and production times. In fact, from a structure perspective, cost-analysis, optimization and site scheduling components are only some of the parameters that can be incorporated into our models.

Once the project’s construction phase is completed, our structural BIM model provides our clients with a fully updated project in regards to site modifications and a long-term facilities management tool when combined with those from the architects and the mechanical-electrical engineers.

Parametric Design

We advocate a parametric design approach using a programming environment to explore the design space and characterize the model response as a function of intent using iterative computation.

Parametric design allows engineers and architects to collaborate to develop meaningful solutions with reduced cost and embodied carbon, while taking into account architectural constraints.

We also use artificial intelligence to explore complex and unintuitive geometries while increasing structural efficiency through the use of stochastic algorithms. Further, through the use of machine learning, our previous projects inform the design at the conceptual stages in order to obtain a preliminary sizing normally available later in the process and thus allow better coordination with the different disciplines.
