The Groupe Sélection seniors’ residence in Gatineau is an 11-storey reinforced concrete building located on Boulevard du Plateau. With a total area of ​​around 312,000 ft2 (29,000 m2), the complex includes care units and residential rental units. Many services are offered to tenants, including large dining rooms, cinema, billiards, as well as a large indoor swimming pool.

The landscaped outdoor courtyard rests on an underground slab, located above the indoor parking lot, which covers the entire lot area. This parking has 87 spaces and several bicycle storage rooms.

Technical challenges :

• Integration of Phase 3 of the project with Phase 1 during its excavation
• As the building is on piles, the underground portion rests on conventional footings. A special detail at the perimeter of the subgrade slab joining the ground floor level allows for differential settlement between these two structures
• Cantilevered terrace of the dining room on the third floor to avoid having columns along the facade of the dining room on the ground floor.
