The Sales Pavilion project in the new District Union development in Terrebonne offers a quality and permanent foothold for the Réseau Sélection team. In addition to providing office space, the building can accommodate catering and other venues in order to serve customers.

The building has 2 floors of approximately 2,900 ft2 (270 m2) each. The project is built from a steel structure in order to respect the effects of lightness and luminosity sought in architecture. The spacing and sizing of the columns, the interior staircase and the elegant triangular exterior drop panels bear witness to this accomplishment.

Technical challenges :

  • Design of architectural drop panels suspended directly from the structure, requiring rigid connections to give an effect of lightness while limiting vibrations due to wind loads.
  • Offset of the lateral load resistance system in plan to accommodate the architectural layout.

Notable solutions and innovations :

  • Verification of floor vibration using a comprehensive 3D analytical model.
