Carré Windsor Tower 1 is in the heart of Quad Windsor, downtown Montreal’s most sought after mixed-use district. It is within easy walking distance of many of they city’s most popular destinations. The project consist of 36 above-ground floors and three basement levels. The building also includes retail spaces on the ground floor.

Technical challenges :

  • One of the major challenges of this project was a double-height basement area (approximately 5.5 meters) designed with spans of 12 meters between the columns to allow for truck circulation. This area also includes an annex room (inside the building).
  • This configuration required the addition of transfer beams at the ground floor level, which must also bear the weight of a future pavilion.
