I hold a Master in Civil Engineering, Architecture & Construction with a timber orientation. I’ve roamed through several universities in France and Scotland to accumulate engineering knowledge consistent with my penchant for wood structures, while having a general education relevant in other construction disciplines.
I’ve had varied work experiences, acting as an engineer for both consulting engineering firms and more recently for a manufacturer of massive wood structures. Before handling a computer mouse and to help me design, I was keen to experience the realities of construction sites as an apprentice carpenter. I also had the chance to be involved in several R&D projects and to use parametric design through Dynamo. Other additional skills (drawing, programming) are also an integral part of my experience.
Finally, I’m in love with mountains and the great outdoors in general through various activities: sliding or riding (skiing, longboarding, canoeing, road/mountain biking), walking or climbing. A bit of a dancer (Lindy Hop) and a bit of a musician (guitar), I like to savor the multiple facets of music.

Vivien will act as a structural designer based in our Quebec office on Saint-Joseph Street East. He will be able to use his vast experience acquired at Structure Fusion and Douglas Consultants where he has distinguished himself as much in projects composed of maritime containers (8-storey Zibi observation tower in Ottawa) as in solid wood frames such as the Sainte-Foy public market (Québec City), the Huttopia Adirondacks reception center in New York state and the Quebec City Armory (expertise on climatic damage induced on a large CLT roof).
