Last Thursday, at the Quebec and Eastern Ontario Chapter’s 2025 Concrete Construction Awards of Excellence gala, we had the great pleasure of winning the Association Béton Québec (ABQ) award for this project, officially inaugurated just a few weeks ago.
This distinction is awarded to a project that promotes the use of ready-mixed concrete, while respecting industry best practices and continuously improving knowledge and practices.
With the new reception pavilion, this Montreal icon now has its own official, ground-level entrance, which extends over 5,000 m² on four floors, right up to the Oratory. For this reason, concrete proved its worth in the challenge of designing, among other things, retaining walls sometimes 16 m high, as well as roof slabs to support earth embankments, roof terraces and/or walkways.
Climbing inside the project, which highlights the minerality of the concrete, we find a boutique, a glazed cafeteria opening onto a new forecourt, a multi-purpose meeting room with a capacity of 200 to 300 people, as well as relaxation areas.
Congratulations to the entire team, including :
