Located at 500 Preston Street in Ottawa, SoHo Italia soars into the sky with 30 floors of reinforced concrete, supporting coveted rental units. The building also includes five floors of underground parking carved into the bedrock.

SoHo Italia has restaurants, bars, gym and a large terrace on the 3rd floor.

Technical challenges :

  • Several column translations were carried out in the first three floors to match the column grid of the tower with that of the underground floors to avoid column redundancies and transfer beams.
  • However, five beams were required on the ground floor to support the 30 above-ground floors to avoid conflicts in the parking lots.
