We are pleased to announce that an honorable mention in architectural design and heritage architecture has been awarded to our Grand Théâtre de Québec project by Architecture MasterPrize (AMP). The architecture and design awards presented by the MPA are among the most respected in the world.
This well deserved honor, highlights the outstanding conservation work done by the team of Lemay on the heritage building of the architect Victor Prus and the mural of the artist Jordi Bonet. The transparent and minimalist glass protection makes it possible to highlight and preserve these two cultural jewels which are the object of a complex and delicate rescue operation. ELEMA was commissioned to design the glass systems of this new translucent envelope with an approximate area of 5900 m2.
In addition, another award-winning project by Lemay, the Espace CDPQ, has been named a finalist for the Best of Year Awards in the Large Office category. These prestigious awards are presented annually by Interior Design magazine to honor the work of the best designers and architects worldwide. The winners of the 2018 edition will be announced on November 30th. For this project, ELEMA was responsible for designing the architectural staircase, one of the highlights of this new office space.
Congratulations to the teams of these two remarkable projects!
