Excavation work has started for the expansion of the Pensionnat du Saint-Nom-de-Marie in Outremont!
The new 2,800 m2 pavilion designed by Yelle Maillé et associés architectes has 4 reinforced concrete floors and is annexed to the main pavilion designed by architect Jean-Zéphyrin Resther.
Some of the structural challenges relate to the construction of the pavilion above the easement atop the blue line metro tunnel as well as the planning for the addition of a possible 5th floor.
We invite you to watch the introductory video to the project below which discusses the educational approach as well as the architectural concept.
