The Honorable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport of Canada visited yesterday the “Phenix” which houses our office as well as that of Lemay to announce a contribution of $ 1 million from the federal government to allow the final phase of conversion of the building. The objective of this final phase of renovations is to aim for the highest environmental certification standards, Carbon Zero and LEED Canada New Construction (NC) Platinum Level, a unique example of adaptive reuse of an existing building, which will serve as a concrete reference for the industry.
Our firm assisted Lemay in the validation of the structural capacity of the roof to accommodate more than 600 photovoltaic solar panels and a structural verification for the integration of a thermal reservoir on the ground floor of the building.
This excellent news is directly related to the corporate values of all partners involved (Lemay, Groupe Mach, Martin Roy and Associates and Elema) to contribute to the improvement and sustainability of the built environment for future generations in the context of the fight against climate change.
