It is with great pleasure that we have learned that four of our projects have been selected as finalists for the 2019 edition of the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CICA) Awards of Excellence (Quebec)!

The immense hotel volume of the Humaniti Complex is finalist in the “Residential Buildings” and “Assembly 2 – Ingenuity – Constructibility” categories.

The Soprema Manufacturing Facility project in Woodstock, Ontario is finalist in the “Outside Quebec – Buildings” and “Assembly – Ingenuity – Constructibility” categories.

The 425 Viger project is finalist in the “Assembly 1 – Ingenuity – Constructibility” and “Buildings – Renovations” categories.

The additional structural glass shell of the Grand Théâtre de Québec project is finalist in the “Assembly 1 – Ingenuity – Constructibility” and “Buildings – Renovations” categories where we assisted the designers of the steel structure in merging with our structural glass fixtures.

In addition, our Vice-President Félix Bédard was selected as a candidate for the “Young Architect / Engineer of the Year” award for the 425 Viger and Humaniti projects to reward a person under the age of 40, having achieved an exceptional project with or without sponsorship. Mr. Bédard realized these two projects independently, without sponsorship. Mr. Bédard won this award in 2015 while working at Pasquin St-Jean for the new main entrance of the Stewart Museum on Île Sainte-Hélène.

The winning projects will be unveiled on November 11 at the Windsor Ballroom. The gala showcases steel construction projects for their beauty, uniqueness and originality. Each year, the nominees receive special congratulations and special recognition from their colleagues.
